Hang wall art like a stylist: height, spacing and groupings

3 min read

Easy rules for hanging posters and prints at the right height, spacing a gallery wall and choosing frames that work together.

Eye level is your starting point

Hang art so its centre sits around 145–155 cm from the floor. Above a sofa or sideboard, leave 15–25 cm between the furniture and the bottom of the frame.

Groups of three are forgiving

A row of three matching posters is the simplest way to fill a wide wall. Keep 5–8 cm between frames and line up the top or centre edges.

Mixing themes works best when the colours repeat — for example, travel prints that all share warm orange and black tones.
